Live Reload: A Chrome Add-on for Monitoring Source Files and Reloading Pages
Live Reload is a free Chrome add-on developed by Blaise Kal. It falls under the category of Browsers and is classified as an Add-ons & Tools subcategory.
Live Reload allows users to monitor source files on a page and automatically reloads the page or just the changed stylesheet when source files are updated. It also has the capability to monitor included scripts, stylesheets, and frames on a page for changes using configurable rules. Users have the option to reload the entire page or only the specific source file that was changed.
If you're experiencing issues with your page not reloading, Live Reload offers a helpful debugging feature. By navigating to chrome://extensions, finding the Live Reload tile, clicking "background page," and visiting the "Console" tab, users can monitor "All levels" to debug their rules.
It's important to note that due to security restrictions in web extensions, Live Reload cannot monitor files served using the file system (file://...). However, a quick and easy workaround is to serve local files over HTTP. More information on this workaround can be found on the project's GitHub page.
If you encounter any issues or have suggestions for new features, the developer encourages users to create an issue on GitHub or send an email to
